Babylon Plants is a wholesale nursery set in the beautiful countryside in South Oxfordshire. We grow over 70% of the plants we sell to our garden designers, landscapers, and horticulturalists. The remainder of the plants come from only the most trusted sources in the UK, Holland, and Italy.
Founded in 1994 on a site of derelict farm buildings and intensively farmed wheat fields, the aim of Babylon Plants was to grow an extensive range of high quality, well maintained and readily available plants for the wholesale sector.
We are currently growing plants across 4-acres. We have dedicated areas for our Ferns, Grasses, Perennials, Shrubs, and Trees, as well as a Climbing plants area and reservoir beds for our wet-loving plants.
The grounds are also host to a beautifully maintained meadow, also sat on 4-acres, featuring some of our favourite native plants, including a whole collection of Wild Orchids. If you would like some time out, please feel free to have a walk around.
Plant Sizes & Sustainable Growing
Plants are available from 9cm to 130L, as well as a few multi-stemmed tree being available in 200L.
We are environment focused; it is important to us that we limit our pesticide use wherever possible, and we only ever use peat free compost when potting on (since 2012).

Visiting the Nursery and Browsing Stock
We are situated on an 8-acre site, 4 acres for growing space, and 4 acres for our meadow, dedicated to native plant species and local wildlife. The meadow can be visited during opening hours, and paths have been created should you want to immerse yourself in true nature.
Monday to Friday 8.30 am – 5.00 pm.
Please report to a member of staff on arrival.
Placing Orders and Plant Availability
We ask that all orders are now placed via email, and not through the phone, as we need a trail. One of our sales team will get back to you with a quote. Most plants are readily available, and some will need to go on a back order if they are not quite ready, or they need ordering in.
We can order in many varieties of plants, so please get in touch if you have any plant requests that we don’t have available on our stocklist.
